About Us
In partnership with the Region of Durham and the Town of Ajax, the Ajax HUB began its operation in March 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and an emergency measure to assist the unsheltered community in Durham West (Ajax and Pickering) receive essential day-to-day supports i.e. showers, clothing, food.
As of May 2022 the Ajax HUB merged with the Christian Faith Outreach Centre as lead agency to offer low-barrier, "one-stop" supports and services to those that are unsheltered, at-risk of becoming unsheltered or of low-income. The Ajax HUB's supports and services have grown significantly over the past 2 years. The Ajax HUB now partners with more than 12 community agencies and continues to grow as patron and community needs require.
The Ajax HUB offers a judgement free environment and is inclusive to all people including; people of all ages, genders, sexual orientation, race, religion and newcomers to Canada.
The Ajax HUB is the main Coordinated Access Point in the Durham West area for individuals seeking housing to get connected to the By Name List (housing waitlist for chronically homeless) and the HIFIS database (Homeless Individuals and Family Information System).
